In the interest of global safety and following the recommendations of health advisors worldwide, the Organising Committee have decided to hold the International Coastal Symposium as a VIRTUAL Symposium from May 3rd to 6th, 2021.

Please note that your paid registration will be honored at the conference and guaranteed. If you had an accepted paper it has been published last year (2020) as part of Global Coastal Issues of Journal of Coastal Research 2020 (SI 95).

ABSTRACT FAQ

I have a PAPER accepted for ICS 2020. Will my paper still be publish in the Special Issue of the Journal of Coastal Research (JCR)?
The Chair of the ICS 2020 and the CERF have agreed to publish the accepted papers with registration paid in due date (April 2nd 2020) this year (2020) as of Journal of Coastal Research with the title Global Coastal Issues of 2020. Please notice that only accepted papers whose presenter have registered and payed the fee by April 2nd will be included in this publication.
I have an ABSTRACT accepted for the ICS 2020. Will my abstract still be consider for ICS 2021 program?
Yes, abstracts accepted for ICS 2020 will be abstracts accepted for ICS 2021. Authors will receive more information in early 2021 about the kind of presentation (oral/poster), the schedule, and the deadline to register and pay the fee to be finally included in the program of ICS 2021.
If I have already registered and payed my fee for ICS 2020, do I have to register again for ICS 2021 to have my included in the program of ICS 2021?
No, if you have already registered and payed the fee for ICS 2020 your registration will be valid for ICS 2021 and you only need to keep it and be aware of the information and the updates you may receive by email, our official website and social media. In case that you have an ABSTRACT accepted but no PAPER submitted/accepted you can still register now, in 2020, for ICS 2021. However, if you decide to do so at a later date, we will inform the contact person of every accepted abstract about the instructions and deadlines to register for ICS 2021 to have your ABSTRACT included in the final program of ICS 2021.
Can I modify my previously accepted ABSTRACT?
At this stage, changes are not possible. The submission form will be close in the next months and requests to modify/update the list of authors and their affiliations or to ask for minor corrections in the title of the abstract will not be consider during 2020. We will inform in early 2021 about this possibility and we will explain on how to proceed.
Can I withdraw my previously accepted ABSTRACT?
Yes, you will be able to withdrawn your previously accepted abstract for ICS 2021 by sending an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please notice that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to undo this request and to consider your abstract afterwards if you withdraw it now. For this reason, we would recommend no actions from the authors during 2020. If you finally cannot participate in ICS 2021 just inform afterwards, in early 2021 to be sure that you still keep your slot in the program just in case you finally would be able to attend.
Will I be able to submit new abstracts/papers for ICS 2021?
No, at this stage the Journal of Coastal and program are already. So, late papers considered.
What would happen if we finally need to change the presenter of our accepted abstract to attend to present the contribution in ICS 2021?
This kind of questions and requests will be managed in early 2021 when we organize scientific sessions in the program. We really appreciate your patience and consideration during the next months. Keep in touch with what we publish in our website and social media.

REGISTRATION FAQ

I am a presenting author or co-author of an accepted paper, and I have registered. Can I have a refund?
As stated before, all authors must have registration dues paid in order for their paper to be published in SI95 of the Journal of Coastal Research this year. Therefore, unless you are prepared to withdraw the paper, refund is not considered in this case.
I am a presenting author or co-author of an accepted abstract, and I have registered. Can I have a refund?
Please bear in mind that to be able to present the work you submitted as an Abstract you must remain registered so that the program remain for next year’s conference No refund is considered in this case.
